Sutherland Shire Dog Training Club will be entering a team in its first competition at Castle Hill on March 18th.
Well didn't Southerly Busters shock a few flyballers at their first competition not only did they have a wonderful variety of dogs, they stepped into the ring for their first race and absolutely blew everyone away with their performance. Their first heat was a DNF and as the judge I was thinking to myself 'here we go again'. So I decided to give them a little time to calm down and let their dogs give the handlers a stern talking too, so they would calm themselves down. I then called to line them up again, and we started the next heat, Sutherland then ran the next four heats completing each one with four dogs and winning three to take out the race. They competed in 8 races and won their first race and their last two races. At no point during the day did any of their dogs even look like crossing the centre line or doing anything to worry their handlers or me. I was so impressed with their performance as a very raw team I thought I would tell everyone about it. There performance contributed to the fact that there were no incidents of interference at this competition nor were there any other violations which would have resulted in a signal card being issued. (Yipee! no judges reports to write for this comp). Thank you guys for all the hard work you put in with your dogs prior to attending a sanctioned competition.
