The Thunderdogs number 1 team broke the record 3 times over the day with a best time of 17.309 seconds taking a blistering 0.363 of a second off the current 17.672 second mark. Prior to the 17.309 run they ran two times under the official Australian Record with a 17.602 and 17.595 seconds.

* Cooper – Chocolate Border Collie handled by Joanne Parkes – 4.303 seconds

“We had a great day of racing at Paws in the Park” said team captain for the day Lydia Markham. “We were pushed by our number two team to perform at our best all day. The Thunderdogs are very fortunate to have 3 of the fastest teams in Australia. It makes for friendly rivalry with your own club mates pushing you to perform at your best.”

“We feel there is still some improvement on the record with a run of around 17.15 possible. This may take sometime as each dog needs to run their personal best all in the same race” said Thunderdogs Chief Instructor Leoney Pritchard.

The record has been officially verified by the Australian Flyball Association committee by viewing a video of the run to ensure clean passes etc.
