Latest News - Thunderdogs fly into the record books again!!!!


On Sunday 22 March, 2009 the Norwest Thunderdogs 1 team broke the official Australian record at the “Hounds in the Hills” flyball competition.

With a sensational run of 17.138 seconds, the Thunderdogs reduced the previous official record mark of 17.309 seconds (set in September, 2007) by 0.171 of a second.

This was the second time the record was broken at the Hounds in the Hills competition by the Thunderdogs 1 team, with an exciting earlier run of 17.236 seconds.

 The 17.138 second record run stats are;

Cooper - 3.991 secs Border Collie handled by Joanne Parkes
Harry - 4.350 secs Border Collie handled by Pat Byrne
Pebbles - 4.567 secs Foxy X Border Collie (Height dog @ 10 inches) handled by Lydia Markham
Buddy - 4.200 secs Border Collie handled by Leoney Pritchard

Also, a special mention to Milo – Border Collie handled by Christian Markham who ran in the previous record run that day. 

The record has been officially verified by the Australian Flyball Association committee by viewing a video of the run to ensure clean passes etc.
